Auroom Terra S Traditional Outdoor Sauna
The Auroom Terra S is a fully assembled outdoor traditional sauna constructed around a substantial cross-laminated timber structure. Its waxed dark-gray alder interior, selectable bench materials, architectural glazing, concealed lighting, and thermo-pine exterior create a permanent outdoor sauna with a refined, contemporary presence.
The Terra S is the sauna-only configuration within the Terra collection. It does not include the changing and relaxation area found in the larger Terra M.
MERIDIAN configures the Terra S with the Saunum AirPerfect 7 and Saunum AirIQ Wi‑Fi, combining traditional stone-heated performance with active heat and steam equalization, three-speed airflow, and connected climate control.

Waxed Dark-Gray Alder Walls
The wall and ceiling cladding are finished in waxed dark-gray alder, creating a rich architectural background for the lighter or warmer bench materials.
Natural Alder Benches
Natural alder provides a coordinated tonal relationship with the alder walls while introducing a lighter, more organic seating surface.
Natural Aspen Benches
Natural aspen creates a brighter contrast against the dark-gray wall cladding and has a smooth, comfortable surface.
Thermo-Aspen Benches
Thermo-aspen introduces deeper golden tones, greater dimensional stability, and relatively low thermal conductivity.
The selected bench material must be identified on the approved estimate.
Materials and Construction
- Primary structure: 70 mm three-layer cross-laminated timber
- Wall construction: Substantial insulated outdoor assembly
- Interior wall cladding: Waxed dark-gray alder
- Bench options: Natural alder, natural aspen, or thermo-aspen
- Exterior cladding: Thermally modified pine
- Exterior profile: C7
- Structural base: Impregnated wooden beams painted black
- Floor covering: Waterproof PVC
- Floor grids: Removable wood grids with anti-slip rubber strips
- Interior fasteners: Concealed where visible
- Installation format: Factory-assembled module
Cross-laminated timber provides structural rigidity, dimensional stability, and substantial thermal mass.
Natural variations in wood tone, grain, knots, and texture are expected.
Exterior Finish Options
Natural Thermo-Pine
The natural exterior is finished with protective oil, preserving the grain and knotted character of the thermally modified pine.
Black Thermo-Pine
The black exterior uses a translucent protective finish that allows the timber texture to remain visible while creating a more defined architectural profile.
Both finishes require periodic inspection and maintenance based on climate and exposure.
Glazing and Doors
- Double-glazed tempered-glass entrance door
- Triple-glazed tempered-glass windows
- Clear glass finish
- UV-protective glazing
- Rehpol wood-framed door and window construction
- Black painted pine frames
- Left- or right-handed door configuration
- Exterior-rated door hardware
The insulated glazing supports outdoor thermal performance while preserving natural light and views.
The Saunum AirPerfect combines a traditional electric stone heater with an integrated climate-equalizing system.
The heater draws hotter air from the upper portion of the sauna, blends it with cooler air from below, and returns a more balanced mixture to the occupied area. This helps reduce the extreme head-to-foot temperature differences commonly experienced in conventional electric saunas.
