BUILT TO OUTLAST EVERYTHING
BlueCube™ C3 Cold Plunge Tub
WHY MERIDIAN LOVES
BlueCube
BlueCube is not a wellness brand that added a cold plunge to its lineup. It's a cold plunge company — full stop.
Every engineering decision, every material choice, every design refinement they have made exists for one purpose: to build the best cold plunge on the market and stand behind it completely.
That singular focus is exactly why we chose them.
More About Our Why
More About Our Why
When we evaluated cold plunge companies for our MERIDIAN SystemS, we applied the same standard we hold for every component: does this company specialize in this, or is this simply a product in a broader catalog? BlueCube passed that test immediately — and then kept passing every one that followed.
Built by hand in Redmond, Oregon, BlueCube has never been a wellness brand with a cold plunge in its lineup. They are a cold plunge company — and that singular focus shows in everything they make. Their construction standard, their engineering decisions, and their warranty coverage all reflect a manufacturer that builds with complete conviction and stands behind what it makes without exception.
Every unit is engineered to a commercial standard from the ground up — not adapted for commercial use after the fact — making the BlueCube one of the only cold plunges on the market that performs identically whether it is installed in a private residence or a professional wellness facility.
Three things set BlueCube apart from everything else in this category. First, their 14-gauge 316 marine-grade stainless steel construction — built 30% thicker than the industry standard and finished with a Line-X® coated frame rated for permanent indoor and outdoor exposure in any climate. Second, their proprietary RiverMode™ flow system — active, full-body water circulation at three intensity levels that transforms cold exposure from passive temperature contact into a genuine physiological event.
Third, their 3-year bumper-to-bumper residential warranty covering components, plumbing, electrical, labor, and shipping — with an optional lifetime extension — reflecting a level of manufacturer confidence that no competitor in this category has come close to matching.

Construction & Materials:
Handcrafted in Redmond, Oregon, the C3 features commercial-grade construction
Plunge Material (Interior)
Plunge Material (Interior)
The C3 tub interior uses 316-L marine-grade stainless steel at 14-gauge thickness with extra-thick walls — identical in material grade and construction standard to the C2. This is the highest-grade stainless steel specification in the standard C-Series, providing the same superior pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, the same low-carbon weld-seam integrity, and the same refined, non-porous interior surface as the C2. The C3's material specification is not differentiated from the C2 — what differentiates the C3 is its tub size.
The C3 is available in two configurations: a 66-inch tub interior (best suited for users up to 6'9") and a 72-inch tub interior (for users 6'9" and above, or for commercial environments maximizing user comfort and versatility). Interior dimensions are 66" L × 24" W × 22" H and 72" L × 24" W × 22" H respectively. The additional 6–12 inches of length compared to the C2's 60" or 66" interior is not a trivial comfort difference — for taller users, it is the difference between a session where legs are forced into an awkward position and a session where full natural submersion, leg extension, and body repositioning are all possible.
For clients who use cold immersion daily as a performance protocol, that positional comfort directly impacts the ability to maintain the session duration and consistency that the protocol requires. The C3 can support full head submersion in addition to neck-depth immersion, which is relevant for clients whose protocols include head immersion for neurological and scalp-level cold exposure. Weight is approximately 750 lbs empty — slightly heavier than the C2 due to the larger tub volume.
Plunge Frame (Exterior)
Plunge Frame (Exterior)
The C3 frame uses the same marine-grade plywood core with Line-X® 16-mil polyurea coating as the C1 and C2, built to the same structural and weatherproofing standard. The architectural differentiation of the C3 frame is its side deck configuration — where the C2 features an end deck at the far end of the tub, the C3's deck runs along the long side of the unit, providing a wider and more naturally accessible entry and exit surface.
For a 66" or 72" tub, a side deck is a meaningfully more practical design choice than an end deck, as it reduces the distance a user must step across when entering and allows for more comfortable positioning during entry and exit — particularly relevant for taller users for whom the longer tub is designed.
The C3 frame exterior dimensions are 72" L × 48" W × 29" H with the 66" tub and 78" L × 48" W × 29" H with the 72" tub. The 48" width is the largest in the C-Series and is driven by the side deck depth added to the tub width. This footprint should be carefully accounted for in space planning, particularly for indoor installations.
The full range of C2 finish, wood deck, and cladding customization options is available on the C3 — walnut, mahogany, white oak, white maple, and cherry wood deck options, any Sherwin-Williams custom Line-X® color, prepped-for-cladding ordering for tile, travertine, marble, cedar, or other architectural finishes, CNC logo in wood, laser-engraved or cut stainless steel panels, powder-coated screens, foot pegs, and reverse plumbing configurations.
The C3's larger frame surface area makes it the most architecturally prominent unit in the self-contained C-Series and provides more surface area for customization and design integration than either the C1 or C2.
Plunge Insulation
Plunge Insulation
The C3 insulation system is structurally identical to the C2 — marine-grade plywood frame, Line-X® 16-mil polyurea exterior shell, extra-thick 316-L stainless tub walls, and aninsulated spa cover with child locksincluded standard. The larger tub volume of the C3 means a greater total mass of water to maintain at temperature, which increases the workload on the chiller system relative to the C1 and C2.
The insulation system's quality is therefore more impactful in the C3 than in smaller units — every degree of thermal loss reduction from the exterior shell and cover directly translates to less chiller workload and more stable temperature maintenance.
Plunge Plumbing
Plunge Plumbing
The C3 uses the same pool and spa-grade Schedule 40 PVC plumbing in 1"–1.5" diameters, hand-insulated throughout, as the C1 and C2. The larger tub volume requires longer plumbing runs between the tub, chiller, pump, and filter, and the hand insulation on every pipe section is particularly important in the C3 to prevent any thermal pickup across these extended runs.
The accessible mechanical layout and serviceable design philosophy are identical across all three models — a licensed plumber or pool and spa technician can access, service, and replace any component without proprietary tools or factory involvement.
Commercial-Grade Standard
Commercial-Grade Standard
The C3 is BlueCube's most commercially capable self-contained model, built to handle up to 100 plunges per day and sustaining 11–15 plunges per hour at 2–4 minute session lengths, holding water temperature within 4°F of the set point throughout consecutive use.
The C3's larger tub size makes it particularly well-suited for commercial environments serving users of varying heights, or for high-end residential households where multiple family members or guests of different heights will share the unit. The same Commercial Upgrade Package available on the C1 and C2 is available on the C3, adding AOP or chlorine drip sanitation, a commercial skimmer, non-metal tub material options, and full DOH documentation.
Chiller & Temperature
Full clinical spectrum of cold therapy
Plunge Chiller
Plunge Chiller
The C3 is equipped with a1 HP commercial chiller with Japanese precision compressors— specifically noted across multiple specification sources as featuring Japanese compressor technology. Japanese compressor technology is well recognized in the refrigeration and HVAC industry for exceptional precision in temperature cycling, tighter tolerances in pressure management, and superior longevity under continuous operation compared to standard compressor designs.
BlueCube selected this specific compressor technology for the C3 because the larger water volume it manages requires a chiller that can cycle efficiently and precisely rather than overshooting and recovering repeatedly. The result is steady, accurate temperature maintenance with lower noise output and longer component lifespan than a standard compressor of equivalent horsepower. The chiller integrates with the Balboa SpaTouch 4+ controller for precise temperature management and app control.
Temperature Range
Temperature Range
34°F–70°F
The C3 matches the C2's cold floor of 34°F — the coldest in the C-Series — providing access to the most aggressive cold immersion protocols. The upper range tops at 70°F, placing the C3 in the same category as the C1 in terms of heating range. It is not designed as a contrast or warm therapy unit.
Clients requiring full 104°F heating capability in their protocol should select the C2. For most cold therapy and performance recovery clients, the 34°F–70°F range covers every meaningful protocol variation, and the absence of the heating system simplifies the chiller design and contributes to the efficiency and longevity of the Japanese precision compressor technology.
Temperature Control
Temperature Control
Controlled via the Balboa Spa Touch 4+ controller and the Control My Spa app (iOS and Android). The C3 cools at a rate of 11–13°F per hour from ambient temperature, the same rate as the C1 despite managing a larger water volume, which reflects the precision and efficiency of the Japanese compressor chiller.
The system runs 24/7 and holds set temperature continuously. App-based remote control, scheduling, and system monitoring are all fully supported.
Plunge Heating
Plunge Heating
The C3 does not include active heating capability beyond 70°F. Maximum temperature is 70°F — a cool soak, not a warm or hot soak. For clients whose protocol requires warm water therapy or contrast cycling, the C2 is the appropriate unit.
Plunge Noise
Plunge Noise
The C3 uses Iwaki magnetically coupled centrifugal pump technology— the same near-silent, shaft-seal-free magnetic drive design as the C1 and C2. At River Mode high speed, the directional water flow produces an audible current sound comparable to a moderate stream.
The Japanese precision compressor chiller also contributes a low-level compressor hum during active cooling cycles. The C3 is described as quiet operation and employs anti-vibrational engineering to minimize vibration transfer to the surrounding structure. Given the larger tub volume and the River Mode flow running through a longer tub interior, the C3 at high flow produces a slightly more prominent water sound than the C2 at equivalent speed, though the mechanical components themselves remain near-silent.
Water Flow System
Commercial-grade chiller with Japanese magnetic-drive pumps
Constant Circulation
Constant Circulation
The C3 maintains continuous baseline circulation at all times through the Iwaki pump system, identical in principle to the C1 and C2. Water is always moving through the filter, ozone sanitation system, and temperature management circuit regardless of whether River Mode is actively engaged.
The 24/7 run cycle keeps the unit always ready, always filtered, and always sanitized without any conditioning period between sessions. The larger water volume of the C3 means the continuous circulation cycle processes a greater total volume of water per hour, which is a factor in maintaining consistent temperature distribution throughout the longer tub interior — dead zones and temperature pockets are more likely to form in a longer body of still water, and the continuous pump-driven circulation prevents this.
River Mode™
River Mode™
The C3 includes RiverMode™ with a 3-speed adjustable therapy pump — low, medium, and high — creating the same directional, river-like current that continuously disrupts the thermal barrier at the skin surface. The C3's River Mode operates on the single-pump system (RiverMode™ rather than RiverMode™ Plus), which delivers consistent circulation and full-body thermal barrier disruption throughout the longer tub. The three-speed adjustment allows clients to calibrate flow intensity to their tolerance and protocol requirements, progressing from a gentle current at low to an aggressive full-body immersion challenge at high.
The additional length of the C3 tub actually amplifies the River Mode experience in a meaningful way — a longer water column creates more sustained directional flow across the body, and the 66" or 72" interior means the current travels the full length of the immersed body rather than wrapping around in a shorter tub. For taller clients who are fully extended in the C3, the River Mode experience is more evenly distributed across the entire body surface than it would be in a shorter tub where the legs are compressed.
Filtration & Sanitation
Automatic ozone sanitation running continuously
Filtration
Filtration
The C3 uses the same35 sq ft pool-grade Pentair 20-micron filter cartridgeas the C1 and C2. The larger water volume of the C3 means the filter is processing more total water per cycle. BlueCube's recommendation of filter replacement every 3–6 months or 10–12 water changes applies consistently across all three models and accounts for the varying use intensities and user loads each model may experience.
The commercial skimmer upgrade is available through the Commercial Upgrade Package and is particularly well-suited to the C3 given its larger tub opening and the greater likelihood of outdoor use where environmental debris (leaves, dust, pollen) is a factor.
Sanitation
Sanitation
Standard ozone (O₃) automatic sanitation included, operating on the same continuous-injection, no-chemical-residue system as the C1 and C2. The C3 is rated for chlorine and bromine at 3 PPM supplementation. The Commercial Upgrade Package adds AOP (UV plus ozone) or automated chlorine and pH dosing for high-volume commercial environments.
The sanitation system is identical in design across all three C-Series models — the larger water volume of the C3 means the ozone system is treating a greater mass of water, but the continuous injection cycle is designed to maintain effective sanitation concentration throughout the full tub volume.
Chemicals
Chemicals
Standard residential operation requires no chemical additions — ozone handles all sanitation automatically. Optional low-dose chlorine or bromine at 3 PPM is available for shared or commercial use.
No weekly chemical maintenance routines required under normal residential conditions.
Filter Changes
Filter Changes
Filter cartridge replacement every 3–6 months or 10–12 water changes. Drain and refill recommended every 2–4 weeks for residential use. Startup after a water change is identical across all three models — check unions, fill, prime the filter, and the unit is operational. The maintenance kit is included. The C3's larger mechanical compartment provides the same accessible service layout as the C1 and C2 — serviceable by any licensed plumber or pool and spa technician without proprietary tools. Live U.S. video support available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM PST.

Placement & Environment
Fully weatherproof for year-round use
Indoor / Outdoor Placement
Indoor / Outdoor Placement
The C3 is rated for both indoor and outdoor placement with no modification required. The Line-X® exterior, marine-grade frame, 316-L tub interior, and outdoor-rated Japanese compressor chiller all perform equally in indoor and outdoor environments.
The unit is fully weatherproof, UV-stable, and engineered to handle continuous outdoor exposure including rain, snow, freezing temperatures, and direct sunlight without structural, finish, or component degradation. Wood deck options — if selected — require top coat maintenance over time in outdoor settings and should be kept in a shaded location or protected by the included cover when exposed to direct sun and precipitation.
Climate Protection Control
Climate Protection Control
Level surface capable of supporting the C3's weight — approximately 750 lbs empty, significantly more when filled with water. Structural assessment is strongly recommended for elevated decks or upper-level interior installations. Dedicated 120V, 20A circuit with standard outlet or hardwired pigtail configuration required. GFCI protection required for outdoor outlets. Minimum 18 inches clearance on all maintenance access sides. Frame dimensions: 72" L × 48" W × 29" H (66" tub) and 78" L × 48" W × 29" H (72" tub).
The 48" width is the widest in the C-Series and must be carefully accounted for in doorway measurements for indoor delivery — at 29" height, the unit can be tilted onto its side to pass through standard doorways, but the 48" width means corridor width becomes the limiting factor. White Glove delivery is recommended for complex indoor installations. Fully assembled on arrival — no on-site assembly required.
Climate Protection
Climate Protection
The C3's Japanese precision compressor chiller is rated for outdoor operation in cold ambient conditions consistent with the C-Series standard. The Line-X® shell, marine-grade frame insulation, hand-insulated plumbing, and insulated cover protect the system from cold weather damage during operation.
The continuous circulation system prevents water from stagnating in plumbing lines in cold ambient conditions. No winterization or seasonal shutdown is required for outdoor installations. For climates with extreme cold below the chiller's ambient operating rating, indoor placement or supplemental mechanical enclosure for the chiller unit is advisable.
